Today, we celebrate one year of Three Avocados. April 9th, 2010, was the first day we started accepting orders for our coffee. It’s the day we were officially open for business. And this year, it’s the date we’ve chosen to make a pretty exciting announcement.
We are proud to announce that we have partnered with International Lifeline Fund to fund well (borehole) repairs and rehabilitations in Northern Uganda. The initial schedule is that the first group of repairs will be completed by the end of June, with additional repairs continuing through October. Each of these repairs will provide clean water to approximately 250 people!
These projects are just the beginning of what is to come. They’re also a significant sign that our model is real and sustainable. These projects are the first incarnation of turning coffee into clean water! Your coffee is literally changing lives — and saving lives!!
As if announcing our first projects wasn’t enough, to help us celebrate, we’re hosting a concert by recording artist Josh Wilson on June 26th, 2011. The concert will be held at Messiah Lutheran Church in Weldon Spring, MO (A St. Louis suburb). Tickets are $10 and are available on our web site.
We want to sincerely thank you for all of the support you’ve all shown us over the past year. Without you, Three Avocados would not be possible! We look forward to sharing these initial projects with you as they develop!
